Ohio RTC Community Service

Answering the Call to be More

The athletes of the Ohio RTC are well-versed in training hard and making sacrifices. They are also known for their generosity and giving-nature. These six athletes spend countless hours in the gym and on the mat. They also spend countless hours giving back to the community that has given so much to them as they train to make their ultimate dreams come true.

This year alone, the guys have spent time at YMCA branches all across Columbus – talking to the youth in the PALS program and talking to cancer survivors in the LIVESTRONG program. They attend programs at the 2nd & Seven Foundation – reading to youth and speaking at youth camps. Ohio RTC athletes have taught at many youth wrestling camps and have served as coaches and mentors to youth through the Columbus Parks and Recreation program.

An important component of the Ohio RTC mission, volunteering and giving back to the community has become a part of the daily lives of our athletes.

"We take a lot of pride in what we can accomplish as individuals on the wrestling mat, but we take just as much pride in what we can accomplish together out in the community," stated JD Bergman. "Whether we are working in the classroom, in the kitchen, on the field or in the gym, we are there because we want to make a difference. We care."
